Idaho Pasture Pig piglets. A true Homesteading Pig. The gilts born 10-3-23 they are in the first set of photos. The only gilt left is black and white with wattles She is are Bandit/ Fate There is five that were born 10-25-23. are mostly tri colored however one gilt is cream colored. There are three gilts left of this breeding. Sire is Sam line dam is Heart line. They are in the last few photos. Two of the gilt will be sold as feeders they are too small to be of breeding quality. They are not shown in these photos they were eating hay in the hut while the photos were taken. These gilts can be breed when they are approximately 9-10 months old. . PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN after it had rain for 3 days. It is Muddy season in Ohio. The Idaho Pasture Pig (IPP) is a newer breed of pig that is composed of the Duroc, Old Berkshire, and the Kunekune pig. These are true “grazing” pigs and are very gentle in nature, have great personalities, are easy to work with, are smaller in size then traditional pigs, are great mothers, are able to live outdoors all year round, and can grow extremely well with a diet of primarily grass.
