Description:

For sale is a rare COW-EASE LITHOGRAPHIC TIN made by the Carpenter Morton company, Boston, Ma. Cow-Ease was a veterinary bug repellant that you sprayed on your livestock. This antique tin is in rustic condition but it has great subject matter and a tremendous graphic image of farmer in suit and tie spraying cows. The text on the tin with the graphic of the cow and farmer reads as follows: "Cow-Ease - Keeps Flies off Cattle and Horses - repellant to lice, ticks, and certain vermin. Allows cows to feed in peace. Carpenter Morton Company - Manufacturers - Boston U.S.A." Isn't that what we all want -- the ability to feed in peace. This one gallon size tin measures 7 inches by 3.25 inches by 3.25 inches. The Carpenter Morton Company was established in 1840. A first rate collectible advertising tin. The company that made this tin started business in 1840. Over the following decades the name of the company changed several times with ownership changes. In 1892, the business was organized as a Massachusetts Corporation as the Carpenter-Morton Company. The tin for sale would have been manufactured some time after 1892. This tin is believed to date to the early 1900s. To see my other items search the for sale section of Craigslist for: chris 22150
