Secretary Mahogany Desk

Beautiful, solid mahogany wood, vintage, early 1930’s secretary cabinet with glass in locking doors and claw feet. This Georgian Chippendale design secretary desk and bookcase from the 1930's has refined lines and exceptional workmanship. Signed by noted maker of American traditional furniture, "Maddox”, the top has a well proportioned pediment and finial. Four feet are all carved ball and claw design, drawer fronts have serpentine or "ox bow" curves. Supports automatically extend under the drop front when opened, inside are "secret" drawers and cubicles. The gleaming finish on mahogany is excellent with only minor mars at the edges. Lower drawers are dovetailed. All glass doors and 4 drawers are all functional and locking complete with two keys. The cabinet is in excellent condition and has been well cared for. Inside the desk is 4 drawers, 1 large center cabinet and 2 secret drawers. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture that will be stunning for any room.
